Position: Graduate Academic Coach (SEN)- S

Are you graduating this year and looking to build a career supporting children with additional needs?

Do you have aspirations to work in SEND, educational psychology, or child development, but want meaningful, hands-on experience first?

We are working in partnership with a dedicated and nurturing
SEND specialist primary school in Liverpool (L27)to recruit a full-time Graduate Teaching Assistant for a September 2026 start. Interviews will be held throughout June/July.

complex needs
, including
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)and
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)needs. You will play a vital role in helping children access education, develop key life skills, and build confidence in a supportive, structured environment.

What You’ll Gain:

    Full-time, Monday to Friday (term-time only)
  • Pay: £500-£530 per week
Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex SEND and SEMH needs
  • Supporting children with communication difficulties, including non-verbal pupils
  • Assisting with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies
  • Helping to implement individual learning plans and tailored interventions
  • Supporting sensory activities and adapting learning to meet individual needs
  • Building strong, trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe and engaged
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
We’re Looking For Graduates Who:
  • Hold (or are predicted) a 2:2 degree or above
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Are patient, resilient, and empathetic
  • Are comfortable working with children who may have complex behaviours
  • Can remain calm, consistent, and supportive in challenging situations
  • Are committed for the full academic year (September 2026 - July 2027)
  • Communicate effectively and work well as part of a team
