Do you want to help young people create a better future?

We’re looking for a Careers Coach to join our Flexible Response Team, supporting young people aged 16–18 who are not currently in education, employment or training (NEET). Based in Walker House, you’ll also deliver services across the area, so flexibility and willingness to travel are essential.

About the Role

As a Careers Coach, you’ll use coaching techniques and your strong relationship-building skills to help young people explore their strengths, build confidence, and take positive steps toward their future. You’ll support them to overcome barriers and achieve goals - whether that’s moving into work, education, or training, or engaging in volunteering, short programmes, or wellbeing support.

You’ll work closely with young people, their families, and a wide range of professionals including support services, training providers, and employers. Collaboration is key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored careers support to NEET young people aged 16–18
  • Use coaching approaches to build motivation and confidence
  • Track engagement and maintain regular contact
  • Support progression into employment, education, or training
  • Connect young people to wellbeing and mental health services
  • Build strong relationships with families and partner organisations
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience supporting people to achieve personal or professional goals
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple sites
  • A Level 3 or 4 qualification in Careers Advice and Guidance is desirable
  • Alternatively, 12+ months’ experience in a similar role with willingness to work towards a qualification
What We Offer
  • Full training and ongoing support
  • Laptop, mobile phone, and resources provided
  • Travel expenses paid for excess travel beyond your main base
  • A rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in young people’s lives
  • Opportunities for professional development; many of our Coaches move on to complete Level 6 training for more senior Adviser roles.
