Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Support Assistant to join our welcoming primary school in Liverpool, Merseyside. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive team environment, providing tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping children achieve their full potential in a nurturing setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting teaching and learning activities for pupils with SEND, ensuring they are fully included in classroom activities.
  • Delivering personalised interventions to promote progress in English and maths.
  • Assisting with behaviour management and pastoral support to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to develop and implement tailored support plans.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • A relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children in a school or educational setting, particularly supporting pupils with SEND is highly desirable.
  • Mandatory compliance with an Enhanced DBS Check and the right to work in the UK.
  • Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills, with a patient and positive attitude.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and high expectations for pupil achievement, inclusion, and behaviour.
