SENDIASS Case Worker and Knowsley

BARNARDO'S LIVERPOOL & KNOWSLEY SENDIASS CASEWORKER (full time)

Barnardo's Liverpool & Knowsley SENDIASS are currently looking to appoint acaseworker (PW2) who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with a specialeducationalneed /disability(SEND). Someone who can enable children, young people and their families toparticipatefully indecisionsabout the outcomes that they wish to achieve.

  (office base)
• The role also requires work in the community (Liverpool & Knowsley)

• 37 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
• Hours work around service need

This role requires a high level of competence and, in addition to above:

• You must be able to work bothindividuallyand in a team.
• Have experience in managing a demanding personal caseload, to deliver good qualitystatutoryinformation, advice,supportandrepresentation.
• Have experience in delivering workshops and/or training and participate in events or forums representing families' views.
• Support the Helpline function of the service. Experience in this area would be advantageous.
• You will have an up-to-date knowledge andunderstandingof SEND legal framework and itsstatutoryprocedures, including matters related to education, health and social care.
• You will befamiliarwith relevantlegislationincluding The Children and Families Act (2014), The SEND Code of Practice 2015, the Equality Act 2010 andfamiliarwith the IAS national standards.
• You will be required to have aqualificationin Special Educational Needs , for example IPSEA training up to, and including, level 3 or are willing to work towards
