Principal Mechanical Design Engineer – Joloda Hydraroll

Base Pay Range

Competitive salary up to £55,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead the mechanical design of automated and manual loading systems from concept to production.
  • Oversee detailed design, ensuring manufacturability, quality, and compliance with ISO
    9001, ISO
    14001, and CE standards.
  • Mentor junior design engineers and embed best practices.
  • Standardise and optimise designs through continuous improvement and value engineering.
  • Provide technical support and analysis for root‑cause investigations and design improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams globally to align projects with company strategy.
  • Support the implementation of Drive Works and structured design systems.
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design, ideally within manufacturing, automation, or industrial machinery.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as Solid Works or AutoCAD.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a creative, solutions‑focused approach.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to mentor and influence others.
  • Commitment to environmental and safety standards.
  • Desirable:
    Experience with Drive Works or similar design automation tools.

    Liverpool (onsite collaboration expected).
  • Hours:

    Full‑time, permanent role.
