SALARY- £60,000 - £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

My client is a specialist manufacturer. They are looking for an Engineering Manager with a background in Mechanical Design to join their team in Liverpool on a permanent basis.

The Engineering Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

5 or more years’ of industry experience, with a background in Mechanical Design Engineering
Previous management experience would be beneficial
Strong leadership skills
BSc / BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar
Proven ability to take products from conceptual design to being sold commercially
Ideally be experienced leading development for components from concept to production
Proficiency with CAD software – ideally Solid Works or similar
Experience in Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, process equipment, ancillary equipment, hydraulics or similar industries would also be beneficial
Ability to drive Engineering development
Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, castings, machining, fabrication etc.
The ability to understand system requirements
Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written

The Engineering Manager role will involve:

Managing a team of Design Engineers
Being involved with Engineering/Design as well as overseeing New Product Development and Introduction processes
Using 3D CAD software on a daily basis
Taking things from concept to launch
Helping to develop existing products on a technical level
Liaising with customers as required keeping them up to date with project progress
Producing technical drawings as needed
Driving continuous improvement
Offering technical support
Sourcing and selecting components that are required
