Temporary Works Engineer

Recruit4staff is representing a leading international engineering and construction business in their search for a Temporary Works Engineer to work in Seascale.

• Pay:
  Up to £70,000 per annum plus minimum £5,750 car allowance
• Hours of Work:
  Monday – Friday, Day role
• Duration:
  Permanent

The Temporary Works Engineer will manage temporary works procedures across complex construction projects within a highly regulated environment. Responsibilities include design and/or design checking activities, including detailed design of temporary works and simple permanent works.

• Manage temporary works procedures across complex construction projects.
• Undertake design and design‑checking activities.
• Manage internal and external designers.
• Conduct independent technical reviews.
• Carry out hazard and risk reviews.
• Implement necessary procedures.
• Liaise with the Principal Designer and Designers to ensure full compliance.

• Understanding and working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and design processes.
• Proven experience as a Temporary Works Engineer within a consultancy or temporary works design department.
• Ability to deputise for the Principal Engineer if required.
• Understanding of Principal Designer duties including ERIC.
• BEng / MEng in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, or HNC/HND with significant relevant experience.
• Member of a professional institution (e.g., MICE).

• Experience in nuclear, defence, rail, or other highly regulated sectors.
• SC clearance or eligibility.
• Working toward or achieved Chartered Engineer (CEng).
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
• IOSH Managing Safely.
