Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer
The Opportunity An established UK manufacturing and engineering business is looking to appoint a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing engineering team. Established over 40 years ago, the company specialises in the design and manufacture of specialist products. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate to develop their technical capabilities within a hands-on engineering environment, working closely with experienced engineers across product design, manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
Produce 3D models, assemblies and engineering drawings using CAD software.
Support the design and development of new and existing mechanical products.
Assist with design modifications and product improvements based on customer and manufacturing feedback.
Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.
Liaise with production, quality and commercial teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable and cost-effective.
Ensure engineering work is completed in accordance with relevant standards, specifications and company procedures.
Candidate Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Knowledge of mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals.
Experience using 3D CAD software through university projects, placements or internships.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturing principles.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Enthusiastic, proactive and keen to develop within a manufacturing environment.
