Your new companyA well-established and growing building services consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its North West team. With a strong presence across major residential, commercial and refurbishment projects, the business has built an excellent reputation for delivering innovative MEP design solutions across complex developments.
The consultancy offers a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment supported by dedicated sustainability and BIM teams, providing engineers with the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects while developing their leadership capabilities.
Your new role
Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to take a leading role within the business.
You will be responsible for managing electrical design projects from initial concept through to construction, leading client engagement, and providing technical guidance to junior members of the team. The role offers a balance of hands-on design, project leadership and stakeholder management across a varied portfolio of residential and commercial developments.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading electrical building services design on multiple projects.
Producing and reviewing designs for lighting, power, LV distribution, fire alarm and emergency systems.
Undertaking electrical calculations and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Supporting projects through the Building Safety Regulator gateway process where required.
Attending client meetings and design team workshops.
Working closely with sustainability specialists to develop energy-efficient and low-carbon design solutions.
Mentoring and developing junior and intermediate engineers.
Supporting the continued growth and development of the electrical team.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you should possess:
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
Extensive experience within a Building Services Consultancy environment.
Proven experience delivering residential and commercial building projects.
Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services design.
Experience using industry-standard electrical design software such as Amtech, Electrical OM or equivalent.
Understanding of current Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act framework.
Knowledge of sustainable building design principles and energy-efficient systems.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
Previous experience mentoring or leading engineers would be advantageous.
Chartered status, or progression towards chartership, would be beneficial.
