10 Recruitment are currently supporting the recruitment of a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a Controls Engineering team, with hybrid working available. This is an opportunity to play a key role within the wider Engineering and Project Delivery teams, producing detailed electrical designs, circuit diagrams, component layouts, bills of materials and calculations for automated warehouse systems.

The Role Reporting to the Electrical Design Manager, you will work as part of the Electrical Design team to develop high-quality electrical solutions that meet project requirements and relevant technical and safety standards. You will work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Project Management and Installation teams to help ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the required scope and quality.

Key Responsibilities Produce high-quality electrical designs that meet project requirements and relevant technical standards. Produce electrical solutions using Eplan and AutoCAD for installation and service support teams. Produce Bills of Materials and process documentation to support efficient procurement of required parts. Produce safety solutions to current safety standards and power calculations to support the overall solution design. Produce technical documentation to support other departments in the execution of their tasks.

Work with the Project Engineering team to coordinate electrical, control and mechanical requirements and deliver an integrated design solution. Produce detailed circuit diagrams, component layouts, BOMs and calculations as required. Investigate and resolve technical issues identified within electrical design. Proactively work with Engineering, Procurement, Project Management and Installation teams to support project delivery. Attend project sites to inspect electrical installations against required standards and ensure they meet the design intent.

Attend customer meetings, customer sites, internal project meetings and supplier meetings as required. Support colleagues across the business in the execution of project work. About You We are looking for a team-focused individual with strong resilience and the ability to manage conflicting priorities. You will have a can-do attitude, be willing to step in and help resolve complex problems, and have a strong focus on doing the right thing from a technical and safety perspective.

A strong eye for detail and a natural interest in understanding how equipment works. Pride in producing high-quality work. A willingness to spend time on project sites, client sites and supplier sites as required. The ability to work co-operatively and proactively as part of an Engineering and Project Delivery team. Skills & Experience Formal qualification in Electrical Engineering – preferably a degree, although HND/HNC with suitable relevant design experience is acceptable.

Strong competence in Electrical Design Engineering, including appropriate calculations, specifications, CAD drawings, design concepts and resolving technical design issues. Experience in Electrical Design Engineering, particularly capital equipment and/or systems. High competence using Eplan, AutoCAD and MS365 packages. Strong problem-solving skills. A solid understanding of automation equipment. Good appreciation of 18th Edition, EN60204, EN13849 and other relevant electrical and safety standards.
