The role of a 3D Animator at Stainless Games is dynamic and multifaceted. We are looking for an artist who thrives on variety and is capable of pivoting between different animation styles and asset types.
- Asset Creation & Character Performance: You will be responsible for creating and animating a wide variety of 3D assets. This includes everything from complex human skeletal structures to high-octane vehicle animations with distinct “character” and personality.
- Style Adaptability: The successful 3D Animator must demonstrate the ability to cover a broad spectrum of animation styles, ranging from hyper-realistic movements to exaggerated, stylized aesthetics depending on the project’s requirements.
- Collaborative Development: You will work within small, agile teams, collaborating closely with Lead Artists, Technical Animators, and Designers to define the animation scope and ensure all movements align with the project’s creative vision.
- Platform Optimization: You will ensure that all animations are optimized for a variety of platforms, including PC, console, mobile, and VR, maintaining high visual fidelity without compromising performance.
To excel as a 3D Animator in our studio, candidates should possess a blend of technical proficiency and a deep understanding of the “soul” of movement.
- Professional
Experience:
A minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in 3D game asset animation is required. A proven track record of shipping titles or contributing to major game projects is highly valued. - Technical Toolset: Mastery of standard industry animation packages is essential. We primarily utilize Blender and 3ds Max
. - Engine Knowledge: You should be proficient in navigating and implementing assets within Unity and Unreal Engine
, understanding how animation blueprints and state machines function. - Traditional Foundations: A strong grasp of traditional animation fundamentals—timing, weight, squash and stretch, and anticipation—is the bedrock of our animation philosophy.
