Management Accountant – Liverpool

Sowena Group are delighted to be working exclusively with a well‑established, fast‑growing services organisation in Liverpool as they look to welcome a new Management Accountant into their expanding finance function. This is a varied, hands‑on role offering exposure across the full accounting landscape, ideal for someone who enjoys both detail and ownership in equal measure.

You’ll join a collaborative team and work closely with senior finance leaders, taking responsibility for day‑to‑day accounting, month‑end reporting, and supporting operational teams with accurate insight. The Role:

As Management Accountant, you will oversee the financial management of multiple business streams, ensuring robust controls, strong reporting, and smooth financial operations. Working alongside the Financial Controller, you’ll play a key part in period‑end processes, analysis, and continuous improvement across the department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage key transactional finance activities, including AP, AR, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for senior stakeholders.
• Oversee income processes, including recurring fees and service‑based billing.
• Assist with year‑end preparation and liaise with external auditors.
• Identify opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and reporting quality.
• Provide support and guidance to junior finance colleagues, acting as a key contact for finance queries.

About You:

• Part‑qualified or fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience.
• Experience with in a property, real estate, multi‑entity, or service‑led environment is beneficial.
• Strong grounding in both transactional finance and management accounting.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
• Confident communicator with a proactive, problem‑solving mindset.
• Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR).
• Experience with in the lettings or property management industry
