Forge Talent is excited to present an excellent opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to join an outstanding services company. They are a forward-thinking leader in their specialist field and are committed to delivering exceptional customer service. As a Financial Accountant, you will work closely with the Financial Controller and be responsible for a variety of important functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit Coordination:
Collaborate with both internal and external auditors, helping to establish timelines, deliverables, and audit schedules. You will ensure effective coordination of internal audits and communicate deadlines to department heads and the wider finance team. - Year-End Reporting:
Take charge of the year-end audit process, preparing statutory accounts for both group and subsidiary companies, including financial statements and necessary disclosures. You will ensure the timely reconciliation of inter-company balances. - Tax Compliance:
Partner with tax advisors to ensure the completion of corporation tax schedules and filings. You will also oversee compliance with various taxes including CIS, VAT, PAYE, and PSA. - Cash Management & Reconciliation:
Manage the group’s cash forecasting and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all companies. You will investigate discrepancies and variances and implement solutions to ensure accuracy. - HMRC Queries & Compliance:
Handle any HMRC-related queries and manage audit, tax, or compliance projects, ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met. - Additional Duties:
You may be asked to take on other reasonable tasks as required, offering your support across various finance-related functions.
Required Skills & Experience
- Professional Qualification: ACA or ACCA qualified accountant preferred.
- Experience:
At least 3 years working in an accounts-related role, with practical experience in audit, tax, and VAT. - Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and intermediate Microsoft Office skills. - Personal Attributes:
Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative, excellent prioritisation, and problem-solving skills.
