Financial Accountant

£50,000 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract Hybrid (2 Days Office-Based)Are you a technically strong Financial Accountant who thrives on turning complex data into meaningful insight? We're working with a forward-thinking organisation looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a pivotal role, partnering closely with the Head of Financial Accounting and influencing decision-making at a strategic level.

This is a broad, hands-on financial accounting role with real visibility across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the production of statutory accounts and regulatory returns
• Leading on VAT returns, corporation tax oversight and tax disclosures
• Coordinating internal and external audits, managing timelines and stakeholder inputs
• Overseeing implementation of audit recommendations
• Full balance sheet management, including reconciliations and provisions
• Supporting development of financial information for internal reporting and statutory submissions
• Building and refining financial models to inform decision-making
• Assisting with financial planning and forecasting cycles
• Maintaining and reporting on the fixed asset register, ensuring compliance with reporting standards and capitalisation policies
• Supporting the review and update of key financial policies
• Contributing to month-end, quarter-end and year-end processes
• Strengthening financial controls and governance across the finance function

This is a role for someone who enjoys both technical accuracy and adding commercial insight.

You'll likely be:

• A qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
• Experienced in statutory reporting and regulatory returns
• Confident managing audits and liaising with external stakeholders
• Strong on balance sheet control and financial governance
• Comfortable working to tight timetables
• Proactive, organised, and detail-driven
• A confident communicator who can work cross-functionally
