Senior Registered Valuer (MRICS) – Interim Contract (3 Months)
Location: East Anglia (Hybrid Working Available)
Contract Length: 3 Months (with potential extension)
Rate: £500 per day (Inside IR35)
About the RoleA Local Authority in East Anglia is seeking an experienced Senior Registered Valuer (MRICS) to provide interim cover for a period of approximately three months. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified valuation professional to support a busy property team across a varied portfolio of commercial and operational assets.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering professional valuation advice, supporting asset management initiatives, and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake valuations of the Council’s property portfolio for a range of purposes including:
Asset valuations for accounting purposes - Acquisition and disposal advice Development appraisals Capital projects and investment decisions
- Provide professional valuation reports in accordance with RICS standards and the Red Book.
- Advise senior stakeholders on valuation matters and property‑related risks.
- Support asset management and estates functions as required.
- Assist with strategic property reviews and portfolio rationalisation projects.
- Liaise with internal departments, external consultants, and key stakeholders.
- Ensure all valuation work is completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
- MRICS qualified and Registered Valuer status.
- Significant experience undertaking property valuations within either local government, public sector, or a comparable environment.
- Strong knowledge of the RICS Valuation – Global Standards (Red Book).
- Experience valuing a broad range of commercial and operational property assets.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence and ability to attend sites as required.
- Previous experience working within a Local Authority.
- Knowledge of local government accounting and asset valuation requirements.
- Experience supporting asset management and estate strategy projects.
- Hybrid working available.
- Primarily East Anglia-based portfolio.
- Flexible working arrangements can be discussed.
- Immediate start preferred.
