Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Management Accountant to support the day-to‑day finance function and contribute to the delivery of accurate and timely financial information. This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT‑qualified finance professional looking to further develop their management accounting skills within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting all aspects of transactional finance, month‑end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory reporting requirements, and assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain all aspects of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable ledgers.
- Manage credit control activities and monitor outstanding customer balances.
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain petty cash records.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and prepare depreciation schedules.
- Reconcile stock ledger balances to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and other month‑end journals.
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end accounting processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial information is available for management reporting.
- Support the preparation of monthly cashflow reports and annual budgets.
- Provide support during internal and external audits.
- Liaise with operational departments to resolve financial queries and improve processes.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across the business.
- Assist the Finance Manager with ad‑hoc financial analysis and reporting requirements.
- Essential
- Minimum of 5 years' experience within a finance or accounting role.
- Strong understanding of management accounting principles and month‑end processes.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and reconciliations.
- Good knowledge of VAT and statutory reporting requirements.
- Desirable
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment.
- AAT Level 4 Qualified
- Studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification
