Are you passionate about numbers, detail-oriented, and eager to grow your career in finance? We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our fast-paced and collaborative finance team at our Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool on a 12-month fixed-term basis.

As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring our GFR/GNFR invoices are paid accurately and on time. This role has emphasis on processing high volume of invoices and is key to the Finance operations team achieving their objectives. The role is office based 4 days a week, with the flexibility to work 1 day from home.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Ensure invoices are processed and paid accurately and on time
Match invoices to POs where automation has not applied
Support and improve invoice recognition for accurate PO matching
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
Raise debit notes for invoice variances
Liaise with buyers, suppliers, and councils

What You'll Bring:

Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume finance environment
Understanding of P2P processes (retail experience preferred)
Experience with Oracle and strong Excel skills
Ability to work at pace with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Knowledge of accounts payable regulations (desirable)
