About the RoleAs Management Accountant, you’ll provide practical financial support and advice to budget holders, helping them understand performance, manage budgets and make informed decisions. You’ll be a key link between Finance and operational teams, translating financial information into clear, meaningful insight that supports effective service delivery across Plus Dane.
What you’ll be doing- Prepare timely management accounts and clear commentary for your business area.
- Work closely with budget holders, supporting monthly reviews, budget setting, forecasting and reforecasting activity.
- Translate financial information into straightforward advice that helps operational colleagues understand performance and take action.
- Support budget holders with financial reporting, variance analysis, accruals and cost allocations.
- Build strong relationships across Finance and the wider business, providing a responsive and customer-focused service.
- Contribute to improvements in finance processes, reporting and systems.
- Part qualified and actively studying towards a recognised accounting qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or CIPFA.
- Experience working with budget holders, with a good understanding of budgeting, forecasting and management accounts.
- Housing sector experience, with an understanding of the operating environment and the ability to build credibility with colleagues across the business.
- Confidence using Excel and finance systems, with strong attention to detail.
- The ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
- An approachable, organised and customer-focused style, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Your work will be seen and valued, with the opportunity to support teams delivering services across Merseyside and Cheshire.
- You’ll help budget holders understand performance, plan ahead and make decisions that benefit customers and communities.
- You’ll be part of a Finance team that works closely with the business and provides a responsive, customer-focused service.

This is a part-time role working 24 hours per week. We’re ideally looking for someone who can work their hours across five days to help provide consistent support to the business, but we’re open to discussing a working pattern that balances service cover with what works for the right candidate. You’ll be expected to work one day per week from our Liverpool office, with the remainder worked flexibly in line with business needs.
- 35 days’ annual leave (pro rata), plus bank holidays.
