Job Description
Are you a technically strong Corporate Tax professional with Big Firm experience looking to step into a senior leadership role within a growing, independent firm?
I'm working with a highly regarded and expanding accountancy practice in Warrington that is looking to appoint a Corporate Tax Senior Manager or Associate Director to support the continued growth of their corporate tax offering.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently operating in a Top 10 or larger firm environment
, who is used to working with complex, large corporate clients and is looking for more autonomy, visibility, and a clear route to progression.
You'll play a key role in leading the corporate tax compliance function, overseeing a high-quality portfolio of clients, and supporting the development of both the team and the wider service line.
- Managing a portfolio of large corporate and group clients
, including both audit and non-audit clients - Overseeing the delivery of corporate tax compliance
, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to deadlines - Reviewing complex corporation tax returns and computations
- Managing group structures
, including multi-entity and international elements - Advising on and reviewing complex capital allowances claims
- Ensuring compliance with areas affecting large corporates, including:
- Transfer pricing awareness
- Corporate interest restriction (CIR)
- Debt funding and financing structures
- Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact for senior stakeholders
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of tax professionals
- Overseeing budgets, WIP, and billing
, ensuring commercial efficiency across the portfolio - Supporting workflow planning, resource management, and team organisation
- Working closely with Partners on technical matters and complex client issues
- Contributing to internal process improvements and maintaining high technical standards
- ACA / CTA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Proven experience within a Top 20 or larger accountancy firm environment
- Strong background in corporate tax compliance for large corporates and groups
- Excellent technical knowledge, including capital allowances and key corporate tax legislation
- Awareness of complex areas such as transfer pricing, CIR, and financing structures
- Experience managing a portfolio of sizeable, complex clients
- Confident reviewer with strong attention to detail
- Previous experience leading or managing a team
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Strong communication skills and ability to build lasting client relationships
- Clear and structured progression path to Director / Partner
