Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly regarded Liverpool-based organisation who are looking to appoint a Finance Business Partner on a 12 month fixed term contract.
Based in Liverpool, you will work a hybrid model with 3 days per week in the office.
This is a genuinely business-facing finance role, working closely with a range of budget holders and senior stakeholders. You will take ownership of financial performance across your allocated areas, providing insight, challenge and support around budgets, forecasting, performance, risk and decision-making.
Salary / benefits
£40,000 - £50,000
12 month fixed term contract

Job Duties
Act as the key finance contact for a portfolio of stakeholders, building strong relationships across the organisation.
Provide clear financial insight, advice and challenge to support commercial and operational decision-making.
Take ownership of budgeting, forecasting and ongoing financial performance across your allocated areas.
Produce and present meaningful management information, highlighting key risks, opportunities and variances.
Work closely with budget holders to ensure effective management of significant and potentially complex budgets.
Support the financial management of projects, including forecasting, reporting, reconciliations and financial claims.
Develop financial and resource planning models to support effective use of available funding.
Help non-finance stakeholders understand financial performance and translate complex financial information into clear, practical advice.
Support business cases and provide financial analysis and recommendations.
Promote strong financial controls and ensure relevant policies, processes and funding requirements are followed.
Support external audit activity and wider finance projects where required.
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and ways of working.

Ideal experience
Qualified Accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) or Qualified by Experience
Previous experience within a Finance Business Partnering or commercially focused management accounting role.
Strong experience of budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
Comfortable managing and monitoring significant budgets.
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge, influence and advise non-finance stakeholders.
Strong Excel and wider systems skills.
Experience working within a complex or project-led organisation would be advantageous.
Experience with in grant-funded, research, education, charity or similarly complex environments would be beneficial, but is not essential.
A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of your area and build credibility quickly.
