Position: Private Sector Housing Technical Compliance Officer

Private Sector Housing Technical Compliance Officer – Empty Homes

Location:

Cunard Building, Water Street, Liverpool.

Responsibilities

This hands‑on role focuses on tackling empty homes and helping bring them back into use across Liverpool. You will manage your own caseload, carrying out inspections, checking compliance, and progressing cases through to the next stage. Using a mix of proactive targeting and reactive work, you will gather evidence, prepare notices and support enforcement action, playing a key role in moving cases forward and helping to turn empty properties into homes.

  • Enjoy getting out on site and tackling cases.
  • Possess or have a strong interest in housing, compliance or a related technical role.
  • Be organised, practical, able to manage your own workload, with good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Be motivated by seeing real progress and want to be part of a service that makes a visible difference to neighbourhoods.
Qualifications
  • Experience in housing, compliance or a related technical role preferred.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Practical and proactive attitude to enforcement work.
