Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital is a leading healthcare facility committed to delivering exceptional patient care. We are seeking a Renal Nurse to provide specialized nursing care to patients with kidney-related conditions, including chronic kidney disease, acute renal failure, and those undergoing dialysis. This role requires advanced clinical knowledge, technical proficiency, and compassionate support to help patients manage complex renal health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients’ renal health and monitor vital signs, lab results, and treatment responses.
  • Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and prescribed therapies.
  • Operate and monitor dialysis machines, ensuring patient safety during procedures.
  • Educate patients and families on kidney disease, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Provide emotional support and counseling to patients coping with chronic illness.
  • Collaborate with nephrologists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and comply with hospital protocols.
  • Participate in infection control and safety practices within renal units.
Qualifications
  • Registered Neonatal Nurse (KRNN) license.
  • Certification in nephrology or dialysis nursing preferred.
  • Minimum at least 2 years of experience in renal care, dialysis, or critical care nursing.
  • Strong knowledge of renal physiology and dialysis procedures.
  • Technical proficiency with dialysis equipment and monitoring systems.
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills.
  • Compassion, patience, and emotional resilience.
  • Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and complications.
