Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is a provider of specialist health care and has a presence in community outreach sites and, in collaboration with other providers, our clinicians help deliver care closer to patients’ homes by holding local clinics at locations from Cumbria to Shropshire, in Wales and the Isle of Man. We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Pharmacy Assistant to join our dedicated Aseptic team at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
In this role, you will work within the clean rooms, accurately assembling and documenting ingredients before transferring them for preparation. You will also be involved in check and release processes, labelling and packing finished products, and ensuring the safe delivery of medicines to wards.
Previous cleanroom experience is not required, as full training will be provided. This includes completing the Buttercups Support Staff Course for Pharmacy Assistants in Manufacturing, alongside relevant in-house training packages.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to follow standard operating procedures, and a flexible, committed approach to work. You should be able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, managing your workload and prioritising tasks as needed

• To assist technicians and pharmacists in the provision of a safe and effective aseptic dispensing service with particular emphasis on assembly of drugs and equipment and performing specialised cleaning.
• To assist in the safe and effective supply of medicines to wards and departments.
• To assist in clerical duties
• To undertake duties to ensure stock control is maintained in the pharmacy department and on the wards to include daily stock checks, environmental monitoring and an effective stock return/disposal system.
• To support the delivery of clinical trials through the dispensing of medicines.
• To ensure the effective replenishment of emergency drug boxes, extravasation and spillage kits to wards and departments.
• Support the delivery of pharmacy dispensing services across all areas of the department.
