Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has become available for a full-time Ward Clerk on Ward 4, Trauma and Orthopaedics at the Aintree Liverpool University Hospital. The Ward is a 27-bed Trauma and Orthopaedic ward with a fast turn‑over of patients, requiring the successful candidate to be extremely organised, committed and hardworking. It is essential that candidates have excellent IT skills and can speak confidently to patients when dealing with their enquiries, either face‑to‑face or over the phone.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for using trust patient IT systems including pens/dashboard and IPM, ensuring patient discharge letters are sent and filed and that follow‑up appointments for next treatment are arranged if required. Enhanced organisational skills are required to maintain confidentiality, keeping case notes, letters and documentation securely. The ideal candidate should be approachable, committed and kind and wish to actively participate in a friendly and hardworking team, working directly with the public.
Duties
- Answer the phone and deal with patient enquiries
- Use basic computer skills to book and confirm patient appointments
- Filing and organising documentation in the clinical area
- Maintain correct digital boards with consultant information
- Use the IPM system to record patient arrivals and arrange new appointments, sending out appointment letters
