Research Support Officer in Hydration and Health

The Faculty of Health, Innovation, Technology and Science are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to work on a two-year research programme on hydration and health. The successful candidate will work alongside Professor Neil Walsh and his team on an industry-funded research programme extending recently published work. • You will be expected to assist in all aspects of the programme of work, including: study design; ethical approval; the day-to-day running and administration of the research project; the implementation of interventions; assisting in the collection and interpretation of data; and the production of technical reports and manuscripts for publication.

• You will hold a good honours degree (First or 2.1) in a relevant subject area e.g., nutrition, human physiology, health psychology, exercise science. Experience of conducting high quality research is essential.
• A master’s postgraduate degree is desirable, as is experience of biological sample collection (e.g., venous blood), handling, storage (in accordance with GLP), biochemical analysis and an awareness of quality control techniques.
• In addition, you must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritise a continuously demanding workload.

Anticipated interview date will likely take place the week commencing 13th April 2026. You will be expected to commence the post in June 2026.
