Clatterbridge Pharmacy Limited (CPL) is seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Operations and Homecare Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across our Procurement, Logistics and Homecare services. As a key member of the Senior Management Team, you will play a pivotal role in driving service excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
The post holder will lead the delivery of CPL’s operational and strategic agenda, ensuring services are efficient, safe, cost‑effective, and aligned with national standards including GPhC, CQC, MHRA and NHS requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring the CPL Board and customers receive robust assurance against agreed KPIs, while shaping future service developments and innovations that support the wider health system.
This role requires a highly motivated leader with extensive experience in pharmacy operations, service development, and change management, who can build strong relationships across NHS organisations and lead teams through continuous improvement.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder provides strategic and operational leadership for CPL’s Procurement, Logistics and Homecare services, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant operations. They oversee the delivery of high‑quality patient care, maintaining adherence to GPhC, MHRA, CQC and GDP standards while ensuring robust governance, SOPs and reporting systems. They manage the Procurement Manager and wider teams, ensuring effective wholesaling operations, quality systems, training, performance and workforce planning.
The role includes leading service development, contractual reviews, SLA delivery and expansion of homecare and procurement services. The post holder builds strong relationships with NHS partners, provides expert advice, and presents complex information to senior stakeholders. They analyse data to inform strategic planning, implement digital transformation where required, and drive continuous improvement.
They are responsible for budget oversight, cost‑effective medicines procurement, business continuity planning and supply chain resilience. The role ensures safe medicines systems, supports incident investigations, manages complaints, and upholds confidentiality, health and safety, and professional standards.

£79,210 salary rising to £89,458 per annum pro rata after one year of service.
Person Specification Qualifications- Vocational Master degree in Pharmacy
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Knowledge of changing NHS environment and government initiatives
- Experience in implementation of NHS policy and guidance
- Specialist clinical and pharmaceutical knowledge relating to promotion of high quality, effective and cost effective procurement and use of medicines
- Understanding of Clinical Governance and Risk Management and their influence on current practice
- Commitment to CPD
- Record of personal development
- Postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy (or equivalent)
- Experience of delivering a high quality pharmacy service
- Experience of service expansion
- Experience of TUPE
- Sound financial understanding and experience in managing pay and non‑pay budgets
- Post registration experience or equivalent documented clinical experience
- Experience in strategy development and implementation
