We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner (GP) to join our Primary Care team at HMP Altcourse, a Category B men's prison and young offenders institution based in the Fazakerley area of Liverpool, Merseyside. Ideal applicants will have experience prescribing for and supporting patients with substance misuse needs. HMP Altcourse is a fast‑paced environment where you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality patient care.
WorkingPattern & Salary
Tuesdays, 8 am – 9 pm
This position is part‑time: 3 sessions, 12 hours per week.
Salary
: £114,763 – £125,135 per annum (FTE, dependent on experience).

- Included on the GMC Register and GP Performers List.
- Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal.
- Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse.
- RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications.
