Responsibilities

  • Clinical lead for Shoulder and Elbow MCAS (Musculoskeletal Clinical Assessment Service) primarily based at Aintree but offering cover at other sites
  • Electronic Musculoskeletal Triage
  • Expert physiotherapy assessment supporting the MDT
  • Undertake complex patient problem‑solving reviews in the physiotherapy department
  • Manage a caseload of complex Shoulder and Elbow physiotherapy patients
  • Order and oversee Shoulder and Elbow investigations within physiotherapy departments
  • Lead Shoulder and Elbow service development, including audit and research activity
  • Provide Shoulder and Elbow clinical education
  • Develop evidence‑based pathways for Shoulder and Elbow conditions
Overview

This role provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician with an Advanced Practice Masters who has a passion for Shoulder and Elbow assessment and rehabilitation to work alongside our Consultant Upper Limb Therapist to deliver high quality care for our patients. The successful candidate will provide clinical expertise within Aintree Physiotherapy departments, cross‑site Musculoskeletal Triage Clinics (MCAS) and Broadgreen Hospital elective consultant‑led clinics.

The role will lead on service development and provide clinical education, supervision, leadership, research and audit, and clinical expertise, in line with the Advanced Practice framework. Working within this large university foundation trust will enable the candidate to shape service delivery and influence change at a local, regional and national level.
