Availl is recruiting caring and dependable Domiciliary Care Assistants to support people in their own homes across Bury St Edmunds and surrounding communities

This opportunity is particularly relevant to people who already have valid UK work permission and are looking for supplementary employment alongside their existing sponsored role
. Availl does not provide or transfer Skilled Worker sponsorship for this position, but eligible workers may be able to work up to 20 additional hours per week where their immigration conditions permit it.

As a Domiciliary Care Assistant, you will visit clients in their homes and provide practical, personal and emotional support to help them remain safe, independent and comfortable
.
Care visits can last 30 minutes or longer, and because the role involves travelling between clients, Availl states that travel time during shifts is fully paid.

Available Working PatternsAvaill offers several daily care periods, allowing employees to work within one or more suitable time slots:
- Morning calls: 7:00am–11:00am
- Lunch calls: 11:30am–3:30pm
- Tea calls: 4:00pm–7:00pm
- Bed calls: 7:30pm–9:30pm
Employees are expected to commit to an agreed permanent rota rather than relying solely on ad-hoc shifts.
Both full-time and part-time Care Assistants are being considered, although applicants must be available to work every other weekend.
Key ResponsibilitiesDepending on individual client needs and training, duties may include:
- Providing personal care and daily living support
- Supporting clients with medication
- Assisting with moving and handling
- Preparing meals
- Carrying out light housekeeping tasks
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Encouraging independence and dignity
- Following individual care plans
- Communicating appropriately with clients and colleagues
- Supporting clients to remain safe in their own homes
Applicants should demonstrate:
- A caring, compassionate and trustworthy approach
- Strong communication skills
- Reliability and good timekeeping
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Willingness to travel between clients’ homes
- A full UK driving licence
- Access to a car or motorcycle
Because some of the communities covered are remote,
access to reliable personal transport is essential

Previous care experience is advantageous but not essential
