The Occupational Therapy Service is a dynamic team delivering Strengths-Based Care Act assessments whilst also contributing to the Prevent, Reduce and Delay agenda. The service includes Team Managers, Senior Practitioners, Occupational Therapists (OT) and Occupational Therapy Assessors. Staff will provide assessment and provision functions across:
Adult Access Area Teams in both North and South, Major Adaptations Team.

The Occupational Therapy Team manager role will play a crucial role in supporting the Service Manager to deliver the teams aims and objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

• To operationally manage and be accountable for an integrated, multi-disciplinary community health and social care service for adults
• Managing all aspects of the service area including budget and performance management
• Provide leadership, oversight and quality assurance if complex high-risk cases including safeguarding adult enquiries
• Contribute to demand management programmes, preventing avoidable admissions and facilitating early discharge
• Ensure a proportionate and strength based approach to assessments

• Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
• Current registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Significant experience in statutory Adult Social Care
• A strong understanding and knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and statutory guidance
• Experience of working with adults with complex care needs
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent decision-making skills
