Job summary

We are recruiting for Healthcare Assistants tojoin our STARS (Supportive and End of Life Care Service) in Liverpool,North-West.

As a Healthcare Assistant with our pioneering STARS service, you will support patients in their own homes and communities across the whole of Liverpool. This is an opportunity to join a successful, forward-thinking service that is helping shape the future of palliative and end-of-life care,both in the North-West and nationally.

Everyshift brings the opportunity to make a difference across Liverpool. You willvisit up to 10 patients, deliver compassionate care in the community and work independently with the support of an experienced multidisciplinary team.

Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life,and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness, theyre likely to diefrom.

The care and support we provide ishighly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present weare only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life.

Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do notget the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.

Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week

Shifts: 08:00am - 20:00pm or 09:00am - 21:00pm (subject to change

Contract: Permanent

Base: Liverpool Hospice and the community

Salary: £25,272 per annum, plus enhancements, and a whole range of Marie Curie benefits.

What were looking for:

• National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in Health and Social Care OR an equivalent alternative Level 2 Qualification.
• Minimum of 6 months care delivery experience in a Health or Social Care Environment.
• Previous experience or knowledge of Palliative Care
• Knowledge and understanding of how to deliver person centred care and the components of open and sensitive communication
• Proficient IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Valid UK driving licence with access to a vehicle with business insurance
• Flexibility to work across different projects and services across the North-West, if required
