Payroll & Pensions Coordinator
- Location: Liverpool City Centre (Hybrid Working Available)
- Salary: £33,000 - £35,000
- Contract: Permanent
- Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm (35 hours per week)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll & Pensions Coordinator to join a busy People Operations team based in Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced payroll and pensions professional to play a key role in the administration, coordination and reconciliation of payroll and pension processes across multiple jurisdictions including the UK, Jersey, Guernsey and Ireland.
Working within a specialist team, you will help ensure payroll and pension activities are delivered accurately, compliantly and within strict deadlines while operating within an ever-changing regulatory environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs Payroll & Pensions Coordinator, you will:
- Administer pension auto-enrolment and re-enrolment processes across multiple jurisdictions.
- Assess employees in line with statutory pension requirements.
- Produce, analyse and reconcile payroll and pension data.
- Coordinate monthly pension submissions and liaise with pension providers to ensure accurate allocation of employee contributions.
- Prepare payroll and pension reports for review and sign-off.
- Process and reconcile payroll-related allowances, deductions, new starters, leavers and permanent employee changes.
- Support the delivery of monthly payroll processing and reporting activities.
- Build strong relationships with external providers, including payroll and benefits partners.
- Monitor changes to payroll and pension legislation and support knowledge sharing within the team.
- Review and improve payroll and pension processes, controls and procedures.
- Work closely with HR, Finance and third-party providers to ensure accurate payroll and pension outputs.
- Maintain accurate records, filing systems and supporting documentation.
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Essential Experience- Previous end-to-end payroll and pension administration experience within a medium to large organisation.
- Strong understanding of pension auto-enrolment legislation and pension administration processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent numerical, analytical and reconciliation abilities.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
