As a Technology Assessment Lead you’ll lead the evaluation, exploration, and testing of breakthrough technologies from around the world - identifying opportunities that could transform our Innovation pipeline and strengthen our product portfolio from consumer, strategic, and intellectual property perspectives.

You’ll also play a key role in driving the conversations that matter, managing and running the Front-End Innovation team’s most important decision-shaping forums across the business.

Principle Accountabilities
  • Take a leading role in assessing and recommending new technology solutions for all our three core categories, with a focus on consumable technology. Focussing on technologies external to imperials business.
  • Build and manage a strong network of external partners with technologies and capabilities to support imperials innovation strategy, being the point of contact for the Imperial business with respect to assessment projects.
  • Build and manage key internal working relationships with supporting functions to ensure effective assessment project delivery. Spanning Science, Legal, R&D, Consumer Science and Commercial.
  • Responsible for designing and executing effective assessment projects covering technical test design and sensory/consumer test design.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of available technologies from outside imperials business.
  • Work closely with portfolio, category and markets to assess competitor and market insights and translate that into assessment opportunities.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Degree-qualified in a relevant scientific or technical discipline, bringing a strong analytical foundation
  • Proven project and programme manager , skilled in leading multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Exceptionally organised , with the ability to prioritise effectively and deliver high-quality outcomes at pace.
  • Collaborative and inclusive team player , comfortable working with diverse teams and broad stakeholder groups.
  • Strong technical and product development understanding , with the ability to generate, analyse and report robust data.
  • Commercially aware communicator , confident presenting insights clearly and influencing decisions.
