Portuguese / Spanish / Arabic. Pay: SO1 (SP 23-25 £ 38,256 – £39,276) (Pro Rata – Term Time Only). Fixed Term Contract – 12 months.

As soon as possible, depending on notice period.

We are seeking an EMA Bilingual Specialist to join our experienced Ethnic Minority Achievement team. The successful candidate will be passionate about working with young people who speak English as an additional language and will have excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Portuguese / Spanish / Arabic.

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with sound interpersonal skills, who is professional, flexible, patient, reliable and efficient under pressure. They will join a very busy team of multilingual EAL specialists and endeavour to inspire and accelerate the English language and overall academic progress of our fast-growing cohort of EAL pupils.

We would like to appoint candidates who have the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
  • Proven track record of quality small group EAL interventions
  • Good knowledge of English, Maths and Science secondary school curricula
  • Proven track record of quality in-class support provision
  • Experience in providing high standard prompt translation / interpreting
  • Willingness to establish a rapport with our local community
