Buyer – Build Housing

Due to expansion in the commercial team, my client is looking for an experienced Materials Buyer
with a background of working for a new build developer. This is a pivotal role where you will be joining a fantastic developer based in Staffordshire with a real family feel.

You’ll work closely with the construction and commercial teams, liaising with suppliers, managing procurement schedules, and keeping everything running.

• Source and procure building materials in line with project specifications and budgets
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Negotiate competitive prices and manage supplier performance
• Track and manage delivery schedules to ensure timely site deliveries
• Keep accurate records of orders, budgets, and supplier agreements
• Support site teams with material-related queries and ensure smooth supply chain communication

• Previous experience as a Buyer for a UK construction or house builder is essential
• Solid knowledge of building materials and suppliers
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• A team player with a can-do, solutions-focused attitude
• IT proficient – particularly with Excel and purchasing systems
