Driver Operative (Reactive Teams)
Job Summary
We are looking to recruit two Driver Operatives within our Neighbourhood & Housing Directorate supporting cleansing operations in alleyways, streets, green areas and derelict sites. In this role you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of manual and mechanical street care duties to maintain and continuously improve the image of the council across Liverpool.
- Use vibrating equipment such as strimmers, blowers, hedge cutters, oscillators and similar equipment.
- Work independently or as part of a team, driving and operating various vehicles and completing route‑based tasks to support both planned and reactive operations across the city.
- Use handheld devices to record activities, complete all required documentation and follow health and safety procedures.
- Represent the Council positively when dealing with the public and partner services.
- Perform physically demanding outdoor work all year round, including litter picking, sweeping, brushing, litter bin servicing, fly‑tipping removal, leaf clearance, weed management and event cleansing.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements associated with street cleansing operations.
- Ability to work a 4 on 4 off pattern, 7:00 to 5:30pm.
This role follows a 4 on 4 off working pattern from 7:00 to 5:30pm. It includes an additional weekend allowance of £6014.15 on top of the salary quoted.
