We are looking to recruit a Driver Operative to join our Residential cleansing team within the Neighbourhood and Housing Directorate.
In the role you will work as part of the residential cleansing team and will drive and operate a range of company vehicles in accordance with relevant legislation, company policies and protocols. You will undertake manual and mechanical plant and equipment methods of operation and use technical devices to record activities and assist in improving the service.
Responsibilities- Litter picking public streets, highways, grassed areas/verges, and emptying street litter bins throughout the city.
- Removal of faeces and dead animals as part of normal duties.
- Remove weed growth and carry out leaf clearance throughout the city.
- Deal with enquiries received whilst working on the network.
- Assist with reactive tasks, providing a targeted and flexible response to environmental problems reported.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements associated with street cleansing operations.
- At least 27 days holiday, plus bank holidays rising to 32 after 5 years’ service (pro rata if part time) with option to purchase further days.
