Liverpool City Council’s (LCC) Cemeteries and Crematoria Service is a small, dedicated team responsible for maintaining safe, dignified and welcoming cemeteries across the city. We work closely with bereaved families, Funeral Directors and Memorial Masons, supporting the delivery of quality funeral and memorial service, ensuring full compliance with statutory legislation, national standards and LCC policies.
Description of RoleAs a Memorial Management Officer, you will play a central role in the safe installation, inspection, and ongoing management of memorials across the city’s cemeteries. You will process applications, inspect completed memorial works, and ensure that the Memorial Masons Charter and NAMM safety standards are followed. You will also work with colleagues to ensure regulatory compliance across the service and assist in the delivery of existing contracts.
CandidateYou will have experience within the bereavement or memorial sector and be comfortable working in close proximity to deceased and coffins, demonstrating resilience in a sensitive and sometimes pressurised environment. You will communicate clearly and compassionately, maintain high standards of customer care and be able to interpret and apply legislation effectively. You will be organised and confident in producing accurate written work, committed to ongoing professional development including working towards the S.I.A.M. qualification, and hold a full, clean driving licence.
