AboutThe Role
Help create safe, welcoming homes where service users can feel secure, settled and supported to live independently. Do you enjoy fixing, improving and preparing homes rather than working on the same task every day? We’re looking for Multi Skilled Property Maintenance Operative to help maintain and prepare our supported housing across the region. From repairing a leaking tap or replacing a lock to decorating a room or preparing an empty home for a new service user, no two days are the same.
Every repair you complete helps create a safe, welcoming home where service users can feel secure, comfortable and supported to live independently.
Occupied Properties – Carry out repairs and maintenance in homes where our service users are currently living.
Empty Homes (Voids) – Prepare vacant properties for new service users by completing repairs, decorating, safety checks and bringing homes back to our Bedspace standard.
You’ll primarily work within one team, but flexibility to support both is essential.
What You’ll Be Doing- General property repairs and maintenance
- Preparing empty homes for new service users
- Painting and decorating
- Basic plumbing, joinery and electrical repairs (within competency)
- Replacing locks, patch plastering and general repairs
- Fire safety maintenance and property inspections
- Gardening and external maintenance
- Providing excellent customer service when visiting occupied homes
You’ll have experience maintaining residential properties and be confident carrying out a variety of repairs rather than specialising in one trade. You take pride in your work, enjoy solving problems and leave every property clean, safe and ready to welcome new service users.
You’ll Also Need- A full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel across the region
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- A positive, flexible approach to work
- Minimum 3 years in property maintenance
This role is ideal for someone with experience in domestic property maintenance, housing repairs, social housing, void property refurbishment or as a multi‑skilled tradesperson. It is not a factory or manufacturing maintenance role.
Career ProgressionWhether you’re an experienced property maintenance professional or looking to build your skills, we’ll support your development through our structured grading system, giving you the opportunity to progress into higher‑paid grades as you gain additional trade competencies.
A Typical Day Could Include- Repairing a leaking toilet
- Decorating a bedroom ready for a new service user
- Replacing damaged doors or locks
- Completing safety checks on an empty property
- Visiting occupied homes to carry out repairs
- Collecting materials from local suppliers
