School Caretaker

We are looking for a reliable, customer-focused Caretaker to manage a school site. You'll be the key link between the school and the site management team, covering all aspects of general site management, including planned and reactive building maintenance, porterage, security and reception duties.

You will most likely be based at one of two sites, which will be confirmed on offer. You may also be asked to cover other schools across Knowsley, so a driving licence is essential.

Location: Knowsley (schools across the borough)
Pay: £13.02 per hour (PAYE)
Contract: Temporary, initially until 31st December
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute daily break

• Early shift: 06:00-14:00
• Late shift: 13:00-21:00
• Occasional weekend work required
• You must be flexible to cover both shifts

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance and repairs, including fire alarm and L8 testing
• Complete minor works such as painting and putting up notice boards
• Open and lock the building, and carry out regular site security tours
• Maintain the visitor book and manage external contractors in line with H&S guidelines, issuing access permits as required
