Introduction:
The purpose of this role is to coordinate and drive forward the SDF4 Missing Generation Project in Everton, ensuring compliance with Diocesan processes and contributing to the project's successful outcome. You will bring experience in project management, and financial oversight and line management to support the project's aims and deliverables.

This is a practical role that involves engaging with a diverse range of people. You will be entrusted with responsibilities, depending on your experience and capability, to contribute creatively to the development of the project’s delivery. You will play a vital part in the success of the project by performing the following tasks effectively:
- Planning
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project plans with the Project Lead, ensuring they are useful, current, and aligned with the evolving strategy.
- Financial Reporting/Forecasting
- Ensure the Project Lead and relevant church treasurers maintain up-to-date budgeting and financial reports, monitoring them monthly and preparing summaries for each board meeting. Ensure claims are submitted to draw down grant funding from the church commissioners and that expenditure is properly accounted for according to plans.
- Staffing
- Support the recruitment of a local project team to deliver the project objectives, ensuring compliance with safer recruitment and all appropriate safeguarding requirements.
- Communications
- Oversee the Project Lead in managing stakeholder engagement and communication. Occasionally, represent the project to stakeholders.
- Measurement
- Ensure that project metrics are agreed upon and that measurement data, including lead and lag goals, are collected locally and reported regularly.
- Safeguarding
- Ensure Diocesan Safeguarding policies and procedures are properly implemented across the project, ensuring the relevant local church is fully engaged with their responsibilities for any new worshipping community or outreach work with young and/or vulnerable people.
- Governance
- Organise the Project Board, agree the agenda with the Chair, ensuring relevant reports are produced in time, and acting as secretary.
- Building project
- The Project is funding/part-funding reordering works. The postholder will ensure due diligence and oversight, coordinating with a dedicated contract Project Manager to ensure these projects proceed as planned.
- Project Leader oversight
- Line manage the Project Leader and develop a local management solution. Ensure the Project Lead is focused and able to deliver the project outcomes effectively, and, where needed, arrange training, mentoring, or additional resources, and assisting in addressing or removing any obstacles or issues that may arise.
Essential Requirements
- O-level / A-level / BTEC qualifications which demonstrated ability in English and Maths
- Competent Project Manager with experience delivering a national church-funded project.
- Experienced in financial processes and procedures, with expertise in finance IT, ideally MyFund Accounting and Xledger.
