About the Company

Curated Partners are partnering with a long-established specialist contractor that partners with leading developers to appoint a commercially minded and hands-on Finance Director. This growing SME has over a decade of experience supporting complex construction projects and has built a strong reputation for reliability, flexibility, and close collaboration throughout the build process.

The Role:

This is a key No.1 finance position in the business, where you will play a pivotal role in decision-making and shaping the business. Reporting directly to the MD and Senior Leadership team, you will provide timely and accurate financial information to support decision-making.

The business seeks someone who not only has solid technical capability but also the right mindset. You should be proactive, pragmatic, and thrive in a collaborative environment. As a true business partner, you will be comfortable challenging constructively, delving into details when needed, and helping drive growth through clear financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Broad, hands-on finance role reporting to the MD
• Responsibility for everything from monthly accounts to strategic planning
• Strong team leadership and process improvement focus
• Ideal for someone from a project-based, construction, or engineering background
• Flexibility considered for the right candidate

• Curiosity and commercial acumen—interpreting data and offering recommendations to influence decisions
• Calm under pressure—meeting tight deadlines while maintaining a strategic perspective
• Growth mindset—open to change, eager to improve processes, and motivated to take on broader leadership roles
• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE
• Experience in construction, engineering, or project-based environments
• Ability to produce monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and board reports
• Leadership experience supporting and developing a small team
• Comfort with budgeting, payroll, strategy, and pricing
