I'm working with a highly respected, design-led planning and development consultancy that is looking to appoint a Director of Planning to lead and grow its Liverpool presence. This is a rare opportunity for someone who may not yet hold a Director title but is absolutely ready to make that jump.

This role is career-defining: full leadership responsibility, a genuine voice at senior level, and the platform to shape a regional planning team with the backing of an established national consultancy.

The Opportunity

Step directly into a Director-level position, with full responsibility for planning strategy and delivery in the North West

Lead and grow an existing Liverpool-based team, with the autonomy to shape its future direction

Act as a key client-facing figure, trusted to win work, advise at board level, and drive complex schemes forward

Work on a broad portfolio including major residential, mixed-use and commercial developments

Be part of a senior leadership group where your input genuinely matters

Who This Role Is For

This position is ideal for:

An Associate or Senior Associate Town Planner who is already leading projects and managing client relationships

Someone commercially aware, confident in fee generation, and comfortable advising developers and landowners

A planner who enjoys mentoring others and wants a long-term leadership role rather than another incremental step

MRTPI qualified (or equivalent), with strong UK planning consultancy experience

You don't need to already be a Director - you need to be ready to become one.
