We have an exciting opportunity for a Prison Team Leader for our Programmes, Volunteer and Service user involvement Team to join our well established service at HMP Liverpool.
As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work flexibly and creatively to establish what is needed to have the most positive impact for all who are referred to our service. You will Lead on programmes and volunteer/peer mentor involvement.

Hours: Full Time, 37.5 per week

ResponsibilitiesAbout the Role:
We are looking for an inspirational and motivated Team Leader to join our well established team within HMPPS Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team while driving the development and delivery of programmes, volunteering, peer mentoring and service user involvement initiatives that make a real difference to people's lives.
Working collaboratively with fellow Team Leaders, Service Managers and prison colleagues, you will play a pivotal role in creating a supportive, inclusive and recovery-focused environment. You will lead on developing a strong local volunteering strategy, ensuring volunteers, peer mentors and service users are at the heart of service delivery and improvement.
Volunteers are an integral part of our services, bringing valuable skills, experience and perspectives that enhance the support we provide. You will recruit, train, support and develop a diverse volunteer workforce, ensuring placements are meaningful and beneficial for both volunteers and the people using our services.
You will also champion service user involvement and co-production, ensuring the voices of those accessing our services are heard, valued and reflected in the design and delivery of the support we provide.
Key Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with other Team Leaders across the site to ensure consistent, effective service delivery.
- Provide operational line management to a team of staff, including supervision, reflective practice, appraisals, performance management and attendance management.
- Ensure staff adhere to organisational policies, procedures and external regulatory requirements.
- Empower staff to promote hope, recovery, choice, independence and opportunities for service users to achieve their full potential.
- Support safeguarding arrangements by working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and ensuring staff are confident and competent in identifying and reducing risk.
- Improve service user outcomes through observation of practice, coaching and the provision of timely, values-based feedback.
- Lead on the recruitment, selection, induction and development of staff.
- Develop, coordinate and oversee programme delivery within the service.
- Lead on volunteer recruitment, training, supervision and retention, creating a vibrant and sustainable volunteering offer.
- Support the development of peer mentor initiatives and ensure peer mentors are effectively trained, supported and recognised.
