This is a highly visible leadership role where you will work closely with the Executive Team playing a key role in helping to share and deliver the EHS strategy across one of the UK’s leading port and logistics businesses. You will support our aim of achieving our goal of zero harm and sustainable operations. You will lead the development of group-wide EHS policies, procedures and guidance, drive strategic EHS projects, and provide assurance through audits and governance activities across the business.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will support compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation, lead incident investigations where required, promote EHS communications and best practice, and deputise for the Group EHS Director when necessary.
You will have:
- significant experience of delivering EHS improvements within hazardous industrial environments;
- the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels to drive a positive safety culture;
- the ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level;
- experience working closely with senior leadership and Board-level stakeholders, translating EHS and business priorities into clear, actionable outcomes;
- an outcome-focused approached, being highly organised, and a proven track record of delivering measurable improvements in EHS
