About the Role
This role sits within the Liverpool City Region Destination Partnership (LCRDP) which is responsible for promoting the city and wider region as a global destination for visitors, conventions and investment. The organisation works with partners in business, cultural organisations, educational institutions and community groups to promote the city region as a great place to live, work, visit, invest and study.
We’re looking for a Head of Corporate Events to lead and support the objectives of the strategic framework for the visitor economy across the city region, working across all six boroughs to add value and create a holistic programme of B2B activity that fulfils the ambitions of both the Mayoral Manifesto and Plan for Growth.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic thinker who is people focused. As a vital member of the team, you’ll contribute to driving our cultural ambitions.
You will:
- Strategic Planning and Leadership:
Develop and implement a comprehensive event strategy, aligning it with the destination's overall goals and objectives. - Event Sales and Marketing:
Drive event lead generation and conversion, developing marketing plans, and promoting the destination as an attractive location (to visit, invest, live, study). - Event Operations Management:
Oversee all aspects of event planning and execution, including venue sourcing, logistics, budgeting, staffing, and on-site management. - Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with various stakeholders, including combined authority and local authority partners, and venues, suppliers and private sector businesses to ensure seamless event delivery. - Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of event professionals (often external), fostering a positive and productive work environment. - Performance Measurement and Reporting:
Track event performance against key metrics, analysing results, and reporting on event success. - Destination Promotion:
Actively promote the destination as a premier location for visitor and investment opportunities, showcasing its unique attractions and capabilities. - Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with event planning and execution, ensuring the safety and security of participants. - Industry Engagement:
Maintain strong relationships with event industry professionals and stay abreast of industry trends. - Innovation and Creativity:
Explore new event concepts and formats, seeking innovative ways to enhance the event experience and attract new business. - Policy:
Be responsible for LCRDPs event management policies and procedures.
This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape our visitor economy and support our invest agenda. If you have the experience, skills, and drive to make a difference, we welcome your application for this exciting and varied role.
