Financial Controller Liverpool - Hybrid Circa £75,000  Bonus  Benefits We're delighted to be partnering with a large, market-leading business to recruit an experienced Financial Controller for a key leadership role within a high-performing finance function. Reporting directly to senior finance leadership, you will take responsibility for managing a small finance team and oversee the delivery of accurate, timely financial reporting within a highly controlled environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys leading teams, driving continuous improvement and maintaining strong financial governance. Aplicants much have experience of internal controls and managing a team.

The Role Key responsibilities will include:
Leading the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring all reporting deadlines are met. Managing and developing a multi-functional finance team, driving performance and capability across the department. Ensuring robust financial controls, governance and compliance procedures are maintained across the business. Acting as a key owner of internal control frameworks, ensuring controls are performed accurately and effectively. Supporting both internal and external audit processes and acting as a key point of contact for auditors.

Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and overseeing the preparation of financial reporting and management information. Managing budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting activities. Building strong relationships with operational and senior stakeholders across multiple business units. Overseeing statutory compliance requirements including VAT and other regulatory reporting. Driving process improvements and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and reporting quality. Supporting business change initiatives and continuous improvement projects.

About You We're keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) Proven financial management experience within a commercial environment. Strong staff management experience , with a track record of leading, developing and motivating finance teams. Experience operating within a robust internal controls framework , with a strong understanding of financial governance and risk management. Previous involvement in internal and external audit processes. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to drive positive change. What's on Offer?
