Operator Technician

Key Responsibilities

• As required, to provide start up and shutdown services in respect of plant systems and participate in emergency shutdown of the plant
• To be fully conversant with safe working procedures and all site operating and emergency procedures, operating instructions and to have a working knowledge of COMAH regulations. To be conversant with site Major Accident Hazards (MAH) and procedures
• As required, performs process analysis maintaining and updating required documents and where appropriate suggesting actions and/or improvements
• Interpret and control plant operations by data that is presented via a Distribution Control System and general plant data
• Following targets and operational decisions made by the Shift Manager, the Operator Technician monitors the operation of the plant, making adjustments to maximise the efficiency of the plant, minimise the cost of operation and ensure environmental compliance
• To provide relevant operational advice and guidance to both other shift members and cross‑functional colleague

• Relevant experience of working in and contributing to a continuous process / production environment.
• Working as part of and contributing to a team.
• Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge and experience of Plant SHE systems & procedures.
• Ability to create and edit Microsoft Word to a good standard.
• To have a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to use Microsoft Outlook for emails and calendar entries/invites
