Precision Centre Lathe Turner

Total Staff Services are working with our client based in Liverpool, Engineering Company, Merseyside. We have an opportunity for a Precision Centre Lathe Turner, this role will involve working from precision drawings to roughout and finish turn shafts up to 4m in length from raw bar stock and forgings of variuos grades of steel, stainless steel, and alloy steels on a centre lathe.

Essential:

- NVQ level 3 or equivalent
Previous experience in using steadies and grinding precision pump shafts up to 4m in lenght
Ability to work from detailed engineering drawings
Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Systems
Previous experience with machining of exotic metals (super duplex, duplex, 718, x 750, Hastelloy, Monel etc)
Experience machining exotic metals(e,g super duplex, duplex, 718 x 750, Hastelloy, Monel)
Previous experience in a similar role (2 years min)
Strong planning and organising skills
Effective communication with peers and management
Attention to detail

Preferred:

- Previous experience in finish turning multi-stage pump shafts
Other skills within a subcontract machine shop
Production of valve and pump components
Serving the Nuclear, Defence, Oil, Gas, Fluid and power generation sectors
Proficient in Office 365 and ERP Systems
39 hours a week + overtime

Single days - Mon-Thurs (Apply online only) - Friday (Apply online only)
