Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Machine Operator, Manufacturing Engineer
Workshop machinist / Fitter
Business specialising in the overhaul & testing of hydraulic equipment such as cylinders, motors, gearboxes & actuators.
To continue to enable the business to grow & meet its workshop requirements, we are looking for a workshop machinist/ fitter to add to our workforce.
Responsibilities include:- Ability to operate machining equipment such as Colchester lathes & milling machines
- Able to machine precision parts such as piston rods & bushes from samples or drawings
- Comfortable with reading & interpreting machine drawings
- Ability to strip down and access mechanical/ hydraulic equipment such as cylinders, motors, gearboxes & actuators
- Compile job sheets & reports for pricing
- Eligible to work within the UK, no sponsorship will be offered.
- Proficiency with lathe & milling equipment
- Minimum 5 years' experience operating lathes & milling machinery
- Hand on experience working within an engineering/ machine shop environment
- Ability to interpret part drawings of equipment/ parts from information provided
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel & Word
- Meet delivery deadlines
- Work well with other team members
- Understanding of mechanical fabrication/ machining techniques
- Have strong planning, organisation & communication skills
- Have a strong orientation towards quality, safety & continuous improvement
- Demonstrate ability to work independently & collaboratively in a fast paced work environment
- Strong ability to manage own work load & time
- Time served engineer
- NVQ level 2/3 or higher in mechanical engineering desirable.

Company offers full turnkey solutions including design, overhaul, manufacture, installation & commissioning of hydraulic equipment for heavy industry sectors such as marine, port authority, steel, paper, forging & military industries.
Company team of 15+ employees with latest annual turnover of £2.5mil +.
Standard project values vary from £100K to £1.5mil.
Benefits:- Salary - £14-£17p/hr + Overtime
- 40hr working week
- Monday to Friday 8am till 16.30 - Company pension offered (After probationary period)
- 20 days holiday + bank holidays
- Rising to 23 days after 2 year period - Commitment to continuous development & training
